This course

I enjoyed developing and having a website and learning some nifty things to do in inspiration and activeinspire and especially google. However, do I feel like it was pertinent to my success as a sign language interpreter? No. Like I said, I did not hate the course but I could have been able to take another class that would be more applicable to my future as an interpreter. But, that's just my opinion. Maybe there will be some twist of fate in which I get a wild hair and decide I want to teach something (I SERIOUSLY dont ever see that happening). At that point, I can bring in interactive activities that would be interesting to my students. I would not know how to do these things without TPTE 486.

Digital Diagrams

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this project. There weren't too many effects that made coming up with a productive and interesting diagram, difficult. Using the diagram within my profession probably won't happen. Again, unless I am teaching a workshop on fingerspelling. I don't really see it happening, but this has been something I definitely could see myself using if I need to teach a workshop or class on something related to interpreting. I do not want to say this assignment was easy for me because I put a lot of thought into what I actually wanted to do but I think it was easier for me because I actually enjoyed doing it.

ActiveInspire

Active Inspire!
This activity was particularly frustrating for me. At first I thought it would be fun to figure out this program and see the future of teaching and schools but I did not enjoy actively creating the activity for the board. First, sometimes I get frustrated because it is hard for me to relate the activity to my role and job as an interpreter. So, that is almost always my first obstacle. Second, it took much longer than I expected, so my finished product was not the most creative or inspiring because of my lack of time. Third, I started the project in class with all of the templates and everything else, then downloaded it at home and couldn't figure out how to have the extra resources, then went to Hodges library only to come to the same problem. I was confused on how to access the new resources. Although I think this project is great practice for teachers and I may not know what is going to happen for me in the future. But, I do not plan to teach - it's just not my thing so even though this was a neat project and kind of fun to see the neat things the program can do, I am happy it is done.
